ON MY MIND
An Editorial by Skip Potter, NASTF Executive Director

The NASTF marketing tag line, "Where Techs and OEMs Connect," was played out in grand style last month in the NASTF Fall 2015 General Meeting at the AAPEX Show in Las Vegas. The relevant, current and compelling topics of the featured sessions and the progressive work of NASTF's committees were responsible for drawing a standing-room audience where more than 15 OEM representatives spent some of their time visiting with aftermarket independents.

Importantly, the greater attendance of NASTF's General Meetings expands beyond the 120 chairs in the meeting room. A recorded webcast into cyberspace often multiplies the eyes and ears of this important industry content by many times. Unfortunately, the broadcast and recording of this year's fall event was damaged beyond repair and cannot be enjoyed by the many who were looking forward to learning from it. All will not be lost, however, as Bob Augustine of Christian Brothers Automotive and Bob Chabot of ManicMedia were in attendance and taking notes. Their written summary of the two featured sessions (Cybersecurity and SAE J2534 v5.0) will be posted on the NASTF website. (See headline stories at the top of this newsletter.)

NASTF IN THE NEWS

Motor Magazine sent contributing writer, Bob Chabot, to cover the important content presented in the November 4, NASTF General Meeting at AAPEX in Las Vegas. Chabot's articles will appear in future editions of Motor.
