Service Technology Team
Team Mission Statement: The NASTF Service Technology Team is a merge of the original Service Information, Equipment and Tool and Collision Teams. As their missions and issues began to converge and the teams were constituted of almost the same individuals the dynamic of blending them became apparent. Team ST is tasked with continuing an open dialogue between automobile manufacturers (OEMs) and aftermarket repair technicians and to identify and address any gaps in service information, diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and training available to independent repair technicians (e.g. the information is available but not to independent repair technicians).

Team ST Projects/Responsibilities (Email corrections and comments to firstname.lastname@example.org)
Reprogramming Information (Includes J2534 information)
Monitor status of Secure Vehicle Interface standards and technologies and discuss effects on maintenance and repair.
Campaign for v5 - Team ST will assess the benefits and costs of implementing SAE J2534 v05.00 and solicit a broad consensus of stakeholders (OEMs, technicians, tool-makers, regulators) to promote adoption of the v5 standard.
NASTF is also a resource for scan tool manufacturers who encounter gaps in available OEM information and thereby cannot complete the release of an effective scan tool. The NASTF SIR (www.nastf.org/FileSIR) is a feedback tool available for that use. All tool makers are first directed to resources provided by the Equipment & Tool Institute (ETI).
