Description of Repair unable to perform
All aspects of repairs. Optional systems are often not apparent to a shop technician, especially in the case of ECU-based systems, like ADAS systems. For instance, a body shop that is trying to determine if a vehicle has optional blind-spot detection, or Emergency Braking, and when they do their pre and post scans are not known on web site. Shops don’t have a reasonable way to know if that particular vehicle has those systems and ECUs are not responding (because they are broken), or if that vehicle never had those systems/ECUs in the first place (because it was not ordered with that option).

Need VIN-specific OEM build data which describes what systems are on vehicle when it left the factory. OEM dealers typically have access to this information via internal system, but is not available on FCA site.

Since the information requested involves multiple OEs I have asked to be copied on any correspondence so that I can determine the best way to complete the SIR and communicate the information.
