Description of Repair unable to perform
Customer needs to pass a California smog test and has not been able to - due to DTC's not turning on the MIL and on the I/M System Status screen the monitors/tests are not showing up. The software is not correct for this particular vehicle and AC Delco says it is.
Description of Information not available
The correct calibration files are needed for this truck to pass emission testing
Description of steps taken to obtain information (help/contact function on website, websites, etc.)
I have contacted AC Delco (888.212.8959) and was told that they looked over the calibration files and they are correct for this vehicle. All calibration numbers and CVN numbers match what they should be, but it is not.
Other Comments or Concerns
After much time wasted I flashed the above vehicle to another 2005 Duramax 4X4, VIN 1GCHK23205F951499 instead of 1GCHK232X5F881879. After completing the programming the following tests/monitors now show up EGR Misfire Monitoring Component Monitoring There is now 1 DTC stored which should have showed up before on the I/M system status screen - On that screen it does not say what the DTC is, just that there is 1 DTC that will keep it from passing. It has a P0670 Glow Plug Module Control Circuit stored. Reverting the software back to what should be in the truck 1GCHK232X5F881879 the tests no longer show up and on DTC's it show 0. Help

Bob Stewart GM and Mr. Chase discovered that the vehicle had a CA air cleaner on it but was in fact a Federal vehicle. This was why it would not pass emissions. Great information but not a valid request.
