Description of Repair unable to perform
After purchasing the only available subscription (of 1 year, $270) of NERS (Nissan ECU reprogramming software) I was not able to locate the required data files to program a blank TCM (we put in a reman Nissan transmission)

I needed to be advised to check for the required data files for a particular ECU (ECM or TCM) before purchasing NERS. You search for the correct data file through nissan-techinfo.com by clicking J2534-1 Re/Programming tab and entering the first 5 digits of the ECU part number. The part number of course can be quickly determined with a scanner.
Description of steps taken to obtain information (help/contact function on website, websites, etc.)
I emailed the contact us button on nissan-techinfo.com I called nissan customer relations at 1-800-647-7261, unable to help. I called a customer service number (586) 840-3276, with no answer (found on nissan-techinfo.com under warranty/FAQ) Through the "Telephone Ordering Service" 1-800-450-9491 I eventually talked to someone who could help with buying CD copies of service manuals, and nothing else.
Other Comments or Concerns
Please clarify the cost of the subscription on NASTF.org Also, if Nissan could please refund us the $270! It was useless to us because I could not program the TCM described above.

This particular vehicle (2006 Maxima) comes with a pre-programmed TCM. There was no need for NERS or programming files. In this case, there was a breakdown with customer support and Nissan was able to make changes. Nissan also suggests to always inquire about the programming requirements for any ECU (ECM or TCM) from the seller upon purchase. This might help to alleviate any questions. Nissan did refund the subscription cost to the client.
