Other Comments or Concerns
Was absolutely not clear when purchasing the factory tool that a secondary tool would be neccesary to perform FAZIT/Online Teaching functions/IMMOBILIZER functions. Was NOT clear when purchasing tool that subscription with factory tool did not include FAZIT teaching function. Being told teaching functions require PAY PER USE separately.

Porsche has been contacted. NASTF is waiting for technical support to respond to the client. More information to come.

Porsche has responded to clarify its process for purchase and support of the PIWIS III. The PIWIS III is purchased from the local dealer. If there is an issue with the tool, the process requires the purchaser to return to the dealer and the dealer will attempt to correct the issue. If the issue cannot be corrected at the dealer, the Porsche dealer will contact Dealer Support to look into the issue. This particular issue is initially is caused by the tool requiring a Porsche Partner Network (PPN) log on. Because this is a dealer log on, the client cannot load his certificate. The client is currently working through the process.

Porsche has responded, the Porsche tool, PIWIS III, is considered a dealer tool because it requires a PPN logon. The tool cannot be fully utilized without a PPN dealer logon. Specifically, the reprogramming functions will not work without the PPN log on. Porsche maintains that they offer diagnostics and programming thought PXN which uses a PC and a J2534 interface. The PIWIS III does not operate through PXN.

Porsche is looking further into this situation. They have received back the client's tool to perform additional set up, imprint the tester, and install a new certificate. NASTF is still working this situation to determine MOU compliance. More information to come.

The client has received the tool back from Porsche. He is currently validating the operation on the PIWIS III and all of its functions. The client will advise soon.

The client has indicated that tool now functions substantially like the dealer tool, following the setup by PCNA/Atlanta. This was necessitated because local dealer would not cooperate with tool setup as PCNA indicates in their purchase instructions.
