Description of Repair unable to perform
This is the second instance where we have tried to preform a software upgrade so we can preform certain tests.

When trying to preform upgrade it says purchase failed.
Description of steps taken to obtain information (help/contact function on website, websites, etc.)
We have had the Volvo help desk look into the issue on the first instance and have been told it is an issue they are aware of but haven't decided how to handle yet. This was several days of communication that ended in us basically being told they couldn't help us. The technical side told us it would get transferred back over to the business side but we never heard from anyone again. Now we have a second vehicle in and are having the same issues.

When we encountered the first issue, we ended up calling the dealer to see if they had the capability of doing this software upgrade. Much to our dismay, they said yes. We delivered the vehicle and a couple days later the upgrade was done. We were told this was a "VIDA wide" issue. So why is the franchise able to do this upgrade and we aren't?

This issue is multifaceted and involves multiple Volvo vehicles, some browser issues, and VIDA installation and settings. Volvo contacted the client and looked into this situation. They worked with the client to remove and reinstall VIDA. They also performed various tests and settings for the system. The client successfully downloaded software to two vehicles. There was a third vehicle that was having problems loading software. This vehicle had a used control unit installed and had been in a severe accident. Volvo does not support the use of used control modules. It is believed that this vehicle had additional problems due to the severity of the damage to the vehicle. Volvo has given the client a few more procedures to try. The client will update NASTF when/if the vehicle become available. Volvo contends that VIDA is a fully functioning application and the same VIDA application is available to all users, regardless of their business type (independent or dealer). This SIR has been closed, but it can be reopened if further action is necessary.
