VW has seen various issues, including module coding issues, upon attempting Key Adaptions on the 2015 GTI. Most of the time the issue is related to the programming procedure. There are many variables that could cause problems when these vehicles are programmed. Problems after programming can be related to a drop in battery voltage, an interruption in internet connectivity, an aftermarket sourced key, or a miss-step in the procedure. Because VW has seen various issues with key adaption, VW has posted two instructional videos on erWin to specifically address the key adaption procedures for this particular vehicle on the ODIS software. To find this information, use the search function on erWin, enter the year and model along with categories marked "Training" and "Videos". Videos can then be selected and should help avoid any programming problems. This SIR was marked as invalid because the information is available in erWin and is not considered to be a gap in information. But the SIR does give the opportunity to show where a technician can get helpful information when programming VW vehicles.
