Have you checked the OEM website?
Yes
Description of Repair unable to perform
Without the Denso DST-i offered by Subaru through Nuspire Networks we are unable to perform computer diagnostics on multiple can-bus related computer systems on 2016 and newer Subaru vehicles.
Description of Information not available
The information although available is being made difficult to obtain from Subaru due to it's unfair pricing structure offered to the independent repair shop.
Description of steps taken to obtain information (help/contact function on website, websites, etc.)
Based on Subaru's tech info website (http://techinfo.subaru.com/static/specialTool.html) I was directed to a company called Nuspire Networks: Nuspire Networks 3155 Dallavo Court Commerce, MI 48390 Tel: (877) 782-7404 I spoke with Nuspire. He gave me the following pricing information on the Denso DST-i: Price to Subaru Dealer DST-i $2000 DST-i Subsequent Software Updates $49.95 per month Price to Independent Repair Shop DST-i $7895 (includes first year of software updates) DST-i Subsequent Software Updates $5800 per year.
Other Comments or Concerns
It is my concern that Subaru has unfairly priced the DST-i to make it unaffordable for the independent repair shop. The R2R Agreement that defines "Fair and Reasonable Terms" when it comes to pricing of the sale of tools and information and based on those definitions and the pricing information I obtained from Nuspire Networks, it appears that Subaru is not complying the R2R agreement in this specific instance. I trust that you will do whatever you can within your power to correct this situation and look forward to your reply.
