NASTF is currently waiting for a response from Mercedes.

Before Mercedes will determine support, Mercedes will ask for certain details to verify equipment and software versions. They will require the following: (1) The 6-digit "system number" on the back of your Star Diagnosis Basic 2 machine. (2) The coding license or C7ID which you used during your coding session. (3) The software release version that you are using on your Star Diagnosis Basic 2 machine. Once Mercedes verifies the equipment, then they can offer updates, if possible, and determine next steps. Please understand that Mercedes will verify the registered owner of the equipment before offering support.

After some research, NASTF has determined that the Basic 2, Compact 3 and 4 is unfortunately no longer supported by Mercedes. This change, as it was stated, was due to changing vehicle technology and programming. Mercedes does offer independent service providers the XENTRY system for purchase.
