Description of Repair unable to perform
Unable to perform software reload.
Description of Information not available
Volvo VIDA 2015 has been unable to perform software downloads (programming) since it's release months ago. The 2016 Volvo XC90 requires the use of VIDA 2015 for programming. Volvo's current work around for programming still uses VIDA 2014D.
Description of steps taken to obtain information (help/contact function on website, websites, etc.)
Contacted the OEM and was given the following response: "The car will have to go to a dealer."
Other Comments or Concerns
This is an obvious lack of access for the aftermarket. The dealers have a working VIDA2015. This has been broken for months which is ample time to resolve the issue if it is being taken seriously.

The release of the new VIDA 2015 system had issues integrating with the Volvo Tech Info website. Volvo recognized that currently there was a deficiency as it relates to VIDA for Independent repairers regarding MY16 models. Specifically, in this case, MY16 XC90. Volvo has now released VIDA 2015 on November 8, 2015, that allows ISPs to program 2016 model year vehicles. Statement from Volvo about VIDA 2015: "The VIDA user will enjoy a diagnostic system that is 100% internet based, eliminating the need to wait for a DVD to ship. VIDA installation occurs one time, meaning subsequent subscription purchases are much faster to process. Updates and corrections will occur every two weeks, sometimes even overnight. The Volvo Standard Time Guide becomes an integral part of the application. All in all, VIDA 2015 brings a new, fully integrated diagnostic system that better suits the needs of their vehicles and technicians, for years to come."
