This has been a most frustrating week. We have spent thousands of dollars trying to comply with Volvo's requirements for VIDA. We have followed the very poorly written instructions to install. The instructions are very incomplete and in many cases simply wrong. The snail paced email help continues to offer partial solutions and does not give any helpful suggestions, simply leaves it up to the user to find the holes in the information for themselves. I have hired an IT company to manage this process for me. They are baffeled that a company such as Volvo could possibly be with holding such critical information. It is time for the EPA and NASTF to really get involved with this problem. Volvo is not keeping the terms of the agreement they signed.

We are sorry to hear of your frustrations pertaining to the installation of VIDA on your PC. We understand that the learning curve associated with the transition to a new system can be difficult. As a result, we have tried to make the transition from VADIS to VIDA as easy as possible by keeping our users informed and prepared for this transition period. To assist with your installation we provided you installation instructions which were shipped to you with your VIDA DVD. In addition to the installation instructions we have also provided updated installation information on our website www.volvotechinfo.com. This information can be found under VIDA Launch Message Board as well as in our Support/FAQ section. Although the instructions are lengthy, all steps are required to complete the installation successfully. Per our phone conversation, the difficulties you were experiencing during your final completion of the VIDA subscription registration were the result of a critical step missed during the installation. Step 6 on page 23 of the installation instructions shipped to you with your VIDA DVD instructs the user to "Select the users to be added to the subscription and click (ADD)". Not completing this step resulted in you receiving an error while trying to comlete your installation registration. As you are now able to login to VIDA we are sure you will see the benefits of this new service application. We thank you for following our procedures and contacting us via Volvotechinfo Help Request system.
