In November 2013 I contacted Mazda at 877-768-6657 in order to purchase their new VCM II interface but was told that it was only available to Mazda Dealers and would soon be available on January 2, 2014 for the aftermarket. I went on the Mazda site today 1/9/2014 and the website directed me to call Bosch at 888-727-6672. I dialed the number today at 3:30 PM EST and hit option #1 and spoke to a Bosch rep who needed a part number for the VCM II but I told them I had no such number to give them so they then forwarded me to a Bosch techline to get the part number. The techline had no knowledge of the Mazda VCM II and then had to search out for another individual named Mike Mertino who gave me a part number that could work but he was unsure. The part number being 94-F-00K-108-820. I was redirected to the Bosch parts order line and they told me this number was no good. I again contacted Mazda later in the day about 4:21 PM and spoke to Jessica who told me this part number did not sound correct. She then gave me a part # F-00K-10-8820 to try. I again called Bosch and gave them this new number to try and to no avail this part number did not work as well. I simply cant understand how Mazda can advertise the availability for the VCM II but not list the Part # for the VCM II to order through Bosch or even list the cost of the tool. There is a very large communication gap between Mazda and Bosch and something needs to be done ASAP so that ANY aftermarket Tech can seamlessly go online and purchase this new tool which I can't purchase at this point due to lack of product listing.... As a result of this SIR, OEM resolved confusion with SPX/Bosch over the handling of tool orders from independent shops. Client was then able to purchase the tool.
