Steps taken to obtain the ME Control Unit: 1. Called Directly to the Mercedes-Benz dealer here un Puerto Rico and talked to the parts manager. 2.Joined NASTF to be able to order TRP parts directly from Mercedes-Benz USA. 3. Other Comments or Concerns
We have all the equipemnt necesary to perform all types of Flash-PRograming, SCN Coding, Initial Start-Up. We have invested on profesional Equipemnt specialy for this type of repairs and have done this for a long time now. This new policy of Mercedes-Benz has made this equipemnt and training obsolete. What Mercedes-Benz has done with this new policy feels just like a monopoly. Thanks in advance, any help you can do for us will be very much apreciated.

Although NASTF feels that all parts sold to dealerships should be made available to the aftermarket in order to maintain a fair and competitive marketplace, NASTF has no explicit authority under current NASTF agreements to force vehicle manufacturers to comply. NASTF maintains the Vehicle Security Professional Registry in order to mitigate vehicle theft as a reason for withholding part sales and it is NASTF’s hope that vehicle manufacturers and their authorized dealers will voluntarily take advantage of this free service. The NASTF Board of Directors will discuss this issue.
