Other Comments or Concerns
I was working in Palm Desert, CA which has not been dropping below 97F during business hours. Thought about trying to find IAT sensor and cooling it off. Reset would not complete using FMP program due to extreme hot temperatures. Received message that the reset failed. tried over several days but unable to complete due to heat.

The Ford Module Program application for this repair was verified by Ford to operate properly. Since no work-around is provided to dealers for high ambient temperature conditions this SIR is not eligible as a NASTF SIR, therefore closed as invalid.

Ford continued to test their applications and upon receiving additional information from the client, tested the Ford Module Programming (FMP) application with a Bosch Flasher Pro device and were able to confirm that it too worked properly. However, the version of the hardware and/or firmware between the devices used may have been different, the vehicles different, and the ambient temperature conditions are probably not the same as the Client experienced. Ford is confident that the FMP and IDS software applications are the same. Consequently, Ford could not offer any explanation for what he experienced. Had the client been able to contact Ford tech help (via email) while he was still working on the vehicle, they may have been able to obtain log files and monitor traces that can help us determine what the root issue was.
