Other Comments or Concerns
Vehicle was brought to me to program new PSCM(Power Steering Control Module). Background: Old Power Steering Rack(Electric) was replaced with a used unit and vehicle was brought to me to program. I informed body shop that programing a used unit is not possible on this year and to replace complete unit. Body shop called Dealer to order a new complete unit. Dealer says they need old part number off old rack as there is a choice of 2 different ones. Old part is not available. Dealer states GM told them they cannot supply a new unit without old part number. Per Dealer, they cannot order part. Must be a way to determine which unit to buy OR, provide a way to program a new PSCM only. Note:When replacing PSCM only, you must plug in old unit 1st to get important info off the old rack- per GM bulletin PIC5563A.
