I have purchased and own many OEM and aftermarket scan software/tools (including the Mopar StarScan with all updates) and question what appears to be a growing OEM strategy (particularly by you, Jaguar, Honda & Mitsubishi) to eliminate small shops as many OEMs appear to be accelerating their updates which make recently current tools obsolete. Their replacement tools/software costs are extraordinary. While I accept making investments in OEM scan tools, the shortened shelf life of the package is destroying my opportunity to amortize the investment sufficient to make a profit.

This SIR is closed by NASTF. NASTF was successful in providing an OEM contact where client could voice their claim. It is apparent however that client and OEM will remain at odds over the issue of tool pricing. NASTF by law is prohibited from engaging OEMs on the pricing of their tools and service information for sale and can only attempt to connect an SIR client with an OEM for discussion of such issues.
