I have contacted VW through the support e-mail system and exchanged e-mails with Kurt Imicus about two weeks ago. The response was we will have to check into it and get back to you. Then they told me they don't have a vehicle to test it on which I replied to offering them the above listed vehicle for testing - no response to that. I also asked for a refund of the subscription as it doesn't work and also because the VW dealer programmed the vehicle which proves that the software has an issue!! I have verfied through outside souces that this is a recurring problem that never seems to get resolved. I have tried every approved J-2534 programming tool with the same results. Drew Tech confirms that the software is not recognizing the requested response which then in turn causes the software to report that the car is up to date when it is not. This has been a repetitive issue for quite some time as I have filed complaints on this issue going back as far as 3 years.

OEM Response: We have been in touch with Mr. Layton regarding this issue as he mentioned. The time line for investigating a reprogramming issue varies according to the availability of resources. This flash was validated here when released. As you know a lot of variables can affect the “field” outcome. As Mr. Layton mentioned, he has written us other times. The first time it was determined that he was using a cell phone connection to the internet (not approved or tested) the second time I believe was grey market car not intended for the US market. Since there have been no other documented issues with this flash from other users, we will prioritize the investigation accordingly. I assure you we will continue to do our best to resolve his concern.
