Lena told me they only have V39. But I purchased it 9 months ago. I talked to BMW dealers and they had V42. I need to update in order to program ECU'S on this. I paid a lot of money for the GT1 and I send my clients to BMW dealers for programming needs. Please help me out with this problem. Thank you, Edvin, EMX

If I understand your inquiry correctly, you own a GT1 Diagnostic Computer with version 39. You are currently trying to upgrade your software and claim Central Letter Shop doesn't have the current dealer version. GT1s have been "upgraded" by using the SSS (Software Service Station). The SSSs enable multiple vehicle programming while allowing the shop to use the GT1 for strictly diagnosis purposes. The last version of software that equipped a GT1 to do BOTH diagnostic work and programming was V39. All BMW Centers have SSSs operating on newer versions of software. If a GT1 is loaded with V4x it will diagnose, but it will also cease to program any vehicles as the V4x program tells the GT1 to look for a SSS. If an independent shop has a SSS from Central Letter Shop they would have been shipped the latest software available. SSSs are currently out of stock, however our order is in transit and should be available in September.Steven Douglas - 8/30/2005 1:05:26 PM
YOU JUST ANSWERED MY E-MAIL AND PHONE CALL, WHICH I APPREACIATE, NOW I WOULD LIKE TO ADD MORE TO BMW ANSWERS. FIRST OF ALL, THE SSS IS FOR C.I.P. PROGRAMMING, WHICH SOFTWARE FOR NEWER BMW MODELS SUCH AS; NEW 3, 5, 6, 7 AND X3 MODELS. SECOND OF ALL IF I DON'T HAVE THE V42, THAT MEANS I CAN'T DIAGNOSE THE NEW BMW 3 SERIES. BELIEVE IT OR NOT I DO HAVE A LOT OF NEWER CARS BECAUSE I WORK WITH BIG BODY SHOPS. NOW, WHAT SHOULD I DO? HOW CAN I GET THE NEWER SOFTWARE?Steven Douglas - 9/2/2005 12:00:04 PM
BMW contacted Edvin at EMX directly and he was satisfied with the response he received.
