Other Comments or Concerns
BMW's "new" 3G OSS requires the installation of several programs. Installation, however, cannot be performed due to the restrictive and "dangerous" installation requirements. 1. The BMW OSS cannot be use on a Windows 64-bit computer (now a standard), it cannot be used on the Windows 7 OS system, it cannot be used with IE8. Furthermore, installation requires making adjustments to the security features of your computer that open your computer to unnecessary risks; and a new user with unknown permissions is added without to your computer without notice. I have used BMW's site in the past. Their recent change is a step backwards, unnecessarily prevents access to their OSS site, and opens the users computer to viruses and other potential problems.

BMW Personnel responded: I have contacted Mr. Seroogy and informed him that the system requirements listed in the installation manual are necessary for proper installation and operation of the software. Both the Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems are readily available. Because he does not currently have access to a computer that meets the requirements his subscription fees have been refunded.
