Description of Repair unable to perform
Reprogramming transmission fluid counters following fluid flush and reading DTC info from other vehicles.

Unable to access VIDA all-in-one due to error message indicating no valid subscription. The independent version of this software does not have the ability to deregister a computer to allow linking a computer to a subscription. I'm guessing this error ocurred when an e-update was performed.
Description of steps taken to obtain information (help/contact function on website, websites, etc.)
Inability to access our paid subscription began 1-14-2010 and Help request sent 1-15-2020 at 11:54 am CST. Followup to the help request sent 1-15-2010 at 15:29. We have not receieved a replay and have had to turn away angry customers since 1-14-2010.
Other Comments or Concerns
The new interface (bluetooth) will not aloow reading fault codes without online access to VIDA, so our shop's diagnostic capabilities have been largely shut down since 1-14-2010 of last week. Our ability to program vehicles has been completey non-functional since 1-14-2010. This problem has surfaced before and the only solution was to contact Volvo, have them remotely control our PC and deregister the computer tied to our paid subscriptioon to allow us to link another computer to our subscription. It is my understanding that the deregister function is available in the Franchise dealer version of this softaware.

Dear Mr. Howes Thank you for following the proper processes and allowing us to assist you. Regarding your recent information request through NASTF, I feel I must clarify some points. Some of the areas you mention as being problematic are not related to each other. I will attempt to address each of these areas from your inquiry. First let me point out that the access levels and information you see are the same as for any Volvo retailer. The only difference in the work flow is that since Independent repair shops are not tied to Volvo directly, vehicle software must be purchased with a credit card. The Bluetooth interface you mention I assume relates to the new DiCE tool. This tool replaces the VCT2000 as the vehicle to computer interface. The introduction of this tool has not changed the basic way VIDA and it's subscription work. A VIDA All in One subscription allows the user to read vehicle diagnostics without an internet connection. The only stipulation is that every few days the computer must be connected to the Internet for synchronization purposes. Software purchasing always required an Internet connection. The help request you submitted on January 15, 2009 related to a subscription access issue. The error message you received was "no valid subscription". This error message can appear when the link between the VIDA computer and the subscription management system (VIDA Adm) breaks. It is not related to an application eUpdate. Although a dormant error in VIDA could cause this to surface. Essentially VIDA Adm did not recognize your computer. When this occurs it is then necessary for the user to deregister the computer and either re-register it or register a second computer. The accesses and views of VIDA Adm are the same for all users either Retailer or Independent. When a computer needs to be fully de-registered, not just removed from the subscription, all VIDA users must contact our helpdesk. A de-register function is available to all users from within VIDA, but is only accessible if the application is running. If you want to replace a working computer then you would manually de-register it from the Computer Settings tab in VIDA. (See below screen capture). As of January 28, 2010 we had not received an update to help request 20628. Further, we can see that a vehicle software download occurred on January 19, 2010, indicating your subscription is up and running.
