Description of steps taken to obtain information (help/contact function on website, websites, etc.)
Martin at Ebahn who handles the website has been very helpful in attepting to resolve the issue. during this program session it was found that the website has calibrations that will not work with the version of java that VW states is needed. I rolled back my Java and recieved the above results. Kurt Imicus at VW is aware of this issue but states it will be next Tuesday before they can start working to correct the issue and has no idea how long it will take.

Both myself and a gentleman with RBI, Volkswagen's web site vendor, have spoken with Mr. Layton attempting to resolve the issue with this particular flash. I spoke with him twice today (3-27-08). I stated to him we would test the software for this application as soon as we obtain a test car and not that I "had no idea" as he describes. Mr. Layton was ask on the call if he had a high speed internet connection which he said he did. He did not mention that it was a wireless connection. The feedback discribes the internet connection as a (fast) 3G wireless Cellphone /PDA. On my second call I explained to him that we have never tested or authorized a wireless application of any kind for software flashes. Mr. Layton states that he has used wireless for other manufacturers successfully. We will add text to our passthru instructions indicating that wireless has not been tested. In addition, we will investigate the software issue as promised. Volkswagen did refund Mr. Layton's subscription fee.Mary Hutchinson - 4/9/2008 9:05:49 AM
Received the following in an e-mail from Volkswagen: Regarding the feedback concern filed by Mr. Layton at Mobile diagnostics, we have tested a similar vehicle at an auction yard and dicovered that the flash works as designed. We suspect that his use of a PDA wireless internet connection may be the root cause of the issue. So, we have added a caution statement to the attached text and to the instructions on our ebahn website.
