Reprogram 2000 I-30 Infinity, bulletin ITB00-054b. Cannot use J2534 device on 2000 model year they say, so forced to buy Consult II. Can't get pricing on tool from their web site. Tool # J-44200cc is there but no prices.... They have a cobo deal on the II and III for $9800. Too expensive to program this car... So they may force me to loose this job and inconvenience customer....

Tim form Nissan, got me back in the Infinity site after he found and identified my registration which couldnt be done on the web site. Now ,,cant reprogram this unit without Nissan only tool and cant get pricing to purchase from that site, except as above... Kent moore number?? Their pricing is dealership level rip off. also,,should be able to use J2534 flash tool. Infinity web for one day is 19.95 resonable to get info but still cant do reprogramming without their tools,, discrimination.!!!!! Fine and punishment needed... NASTF has forwarded to Nissan North America the information feedback request you recently submitted. Your original request is below my response. After review of your request, I do not see any question but will try to address your concerns. You stated that you could not get OE tool pricing on the website. This is correct. The website provides a toll free telephone number to call for the latest pricing. Customers must call and discuss the needed tool configuration before pricing can be determined. For reprogramming, Nissan launched J2534 software in 2004. The first version of software is compatible with vehicles using DDL2 data communications. Older vehicles utilized DDL1 communications and the software is not compatible. The 2000 MY Maxima you are trying to reprogram utilizes DDL1 communication protocol so it is not compatible with J2534 software. Our current J2534-1 software is compatible with vehicles using DDL2 and CAN data communication. As you determined, the only option Nissan offers for reprogramming pre-J2534 vehicles is with the use of the OE scan tool, Consult II. Thank you for your feedback and use of our Service Information Website. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
