Update: Chrysler personnel were in touch with Mr. Edwards on October 2 to provide preliminary information. Follow up with Chrysler service department is necessary before final response can be provided.Mary Hutchinson - 1/14/2008 2:05:35 PM
The following e-mail was sent to Mr. Edwards on November 9, 2007: On October 4, 2007, I contacted you regarding your service information request. I stated that you probably need a DRB III® to program the BCM because Chrysler's BCMs cannot be reprogrammed using a J2534 device. I verified that this is correct. The attached files from our TechAuthoirty website provide the service procedures for replacing the BCM. They were obtained by inputting model year, model and engine and selecting the Service Info tab. Select 8 - Electrical, then Instrument Panel & Gages and finally Body Control Module. If you want to purchase a DRB III®, purchasing instructions are provided on the TechAuthority HomePage (DRB III® Order Form). If you want to lease a DRB III®, leasing instructions are provided on the TechAuthority HomePage (Controller Module Initialization). Only emission-related reprogramming can be performed with a J2534 device on Chrysler vehicles.
