Description of steps taken to obtain information (help/contact function on website, websites, etc.)
contact vw customer relations was told that they are not able to handle any technical information and refeereed me to the dealer network, i told them i would call local vw shop, which i did i asked if it could get reset they told me no unless special vw tool was availible ( they said either 5051 or possibly 5052) i asked if customer could reset there own -- no , i asked if there was a charge to reset it i was told that there would bew a charge to reset light- based on how long it took the tech, if service was done there it would be included.. this will cause customer to be forced into having the dealer perform routine oil changes because of price..$$ - as far as i am aware most other manufactures will allow other or customers to reset own lights or reminders.. I believe this is an unfair advantage to keep the cars comming back to dealer network?? please let me know if you need any other information from us.
